It’s Lonely at the Top.
Being the sole decision maker is a huge responsibility with employees, their families and your family counting on you to make the right decision.
XTEC Executive Development Group provides continuous learning and development for CEOs, business owners and managers in a peer group setting
What is XTEC?
XTEC is an executive leadership development group that met for 17 years in Victoria. The facilitator is now starting up a new group in Vancouver, BC, that provides a safe but challenging environment for business owners, CEOs, and decision-makers to discuss the challenges and issues that they are presented with at various stages in their companies' lives.
Since 2001, this group has seen over 40 members join and graduate, the vast majority with new skills and shared experiences that have enabled them to propel their companies and lives to greater heights.
There are four primary reasons members join XTEC.
-
Improved Decision Making
Most CEOs wrestle with issues which cannot be discussed with staff, friends or other business people. XTEC provides a talented, experienced and supportive peer group where any and all issues may be discussed in a totally confidential environment. The group and the Chair act as a sounding board that fosters lateral thinking and extra input, so that the best ideas can be honed and applied by each member to their greatest business advantage.
-
Growth
How many times have you thought that you should attend a conference or seminar, then found that you couldn’t get there for any one of a thousand reasons? XTEC meetings focus on major business topics such as strategic planning, marketing, finance, leadership and a wide range of other people and relationship issues. Others include stress management, personal finance and balancing their business and personal lives.
-
Accountability - A Commitment
As CEO, you ensure that those who work with you are held accountable. But who holds you accountable in a supportive and helpful way? XTEC maintains a strong emphasis on follow-through and implementation of actions committed to by members, ensuring that the key targets are achieved and results are measured and assessed.
-
Isolation
Many CEOs experience a sense of isolation that can limit the rewards and challenges of the position. It can be very lonely at the top. XTEC provides a supportive peer group, where members can “discuss the undiscussable,” helping to reduce the stress associated with this level of responsibility.
